GARY, IN. – The Gary SouthShore RailCats have named Chief Financial Officer Becky Kremer Employee of the Month for December, as voted by a committee of her peers, it was announced today.

“Becky Kremer has been an extremely valuable member of the RailCats organization for quite some time now,” RailCats President/General Manager Andy Viano said. “And it’s only fitting that she was the first to win this award.”

Kremer joined the RailCats in 2004 as an intern with the club before earning a full-time job as RailCats Ticket Office Manager in 2005. Kremer then spent the 2006 season working for Chicagoland Sports, LLC for a professional minor league hockey and football organization playing in the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, Illinois before returning to the RailCats in 2007.

During her reign as Employee of the Month, Kremer receives a premium parking spot at U. S. Steel Yard and four tickets to a Chicago Bulls game complete with a parking pass. However, Kremer respectfully declined the premium parking spot claiming her usual spot was “way better.”

As such, the rights and privileges pertaining to the premium parking spot have been passed on to runner-up for Employee of the Month, Media Relations Manager Ed McCaskey, thanks to his victory over Director of Sales Alan Bowman in a heated

one-round rock, paper, scissors duel featuring five draws before McCaskey threw three consecutive scissors to break the tie for second place. “Well, the better man won,” Bowman woefully admitted.

The RailCats home opener as members of the American Association is Friday, May 20 against rival Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks at 7:10 p.m. at U. S. Steel Yard. All games during the 2010 will begin ten minutes past the hour in honor of the celebration of the RailCats Tenth Anniversary.
