DEDC and Chamber are excited to announce 2011 Façade Program

Chesterton IN – 1-5-2011 – The Façade Committee of the Chesterton/Duneland Chamber of Commerce, through funding from the Duneland Economic Development Company, was excited to be part of the renovation of 7 businesses in the Duneland Community in 2010.

This first year of Façade Grants was very rewarding (see before and after photos below).

The Façade Committee is pleased to announce that even more funds will be available for the 2011 grant cycle.  The grant cycle will open at an informational meeting January 12, 2011 to businesses in the towns of Chesterton, Porter, Burns Harbor, Beverly Shores and Dune Acres.

The informational meeting will be held at the Library Service Center at 7:00 p.m. where people can come and find out information about the grant program, town façade programs and special bank financing specifically for façade improvements.

Applications will be available at the Chesterton/Duneland Chamber of Commerce after the meeting date and will be due by 4 p.m. on February 16, 2011.

“We were thrilled to be one of the recipients of the DEDC and Duneland Chamber’s 2010 façade grants.  It enabled us to restore the front of our building to a condition that is not only beautiful but increases our visibility and enhances the aesthetic appeal of our area in downtown Chesterton.  We are very happy the Chamber saw the value in our project and are very pleased with the result.”  Stated Mark Swanson of BrainStorm Computers.
