Pooch tags for the 2011 season for Dogwood Run at Lemon Lake County Park are available.  The two 14 acre sections provide lots of running room and places for your dog to explore.  Applications and waivers are available at the Lake County Parks office, 8411 E. Lincoln Highway in Merrillville (4 ½ miles east of I-65 on Route 30) just west of Deep River Waterpark.  Registration may be handled by phone by calling 219-769-PARK (7275).

The annual pooch pass for Lake County residents is $70 and for non-residents is $90.  For senior citizens over age 60, cost for Lake County residents is $60 and non-resident over age 60 is $75.  Each addition dog is $5.  The pass includes the season parking pass for the Lake County Parks.

People who want to try the facility prior to purchasing a pooch pass may do so at a one-time fee of $10, which is deducted off the later purchase of the pass.  Dogwood Run is open daily 7 a.m. until one-half hour before sunset.

Current vaccination records (Rabies, Parvo, Distemper, and Leptospirosis DHPPL) for each dog is required.  Lake County Ordinance #1244F states that Pit Bull and Pit Bull mixes are prohibited from participating in unleashed dog parks.  We are required to uphold this county ordinance.
