Gary SouthShore RailCats BaseballGARY, IN. 9-30-2010 – Adding to a long list of accolades, decorated RailCats starting pitcher Willie Glen was selected as the Gary SouthShore RailCats representative on the Northern League Postseason All-Star Team for the second time as a member of the RailCats by the league’s top executives, managers, media members and fellow players it was announced today.

Glen, 32, returned to the RailCats for the 2010 season after spending two years pitching for the Double-A and Triple-A affiliates of the Florida Marlins. The RailCats Ace put together another outstanding season in a RailCats uniform posting an 11-2 record and a 2.39 ERA en route to being named Northern League Pitcher of the Year last week. Glen tied for the league lead in wins with 11 and had the best ERA among Northern League starting pitchers while finishing with the third best strikeout total. The Indianapolis native also took home two Northern League Pitcher of the Week Awards (June 27, July 25) as well as Northern League Pitcher of the Month honors for the month of June.

The RailCats advanced to the Northern League Playoffs for an impressive sixth consecutive season in 2010 before falling to the eventual league champion RedHawks.
