GARY, Ind. 2-18-2011 – The Gary SouthShore RailCats will announce the lineup for the ninth-annual High School Challenge at the official Media Day Luncheon, Thursday, February 24 at 4 p.m. in the Diamond Club at U. S. Steel Yard.

The 2011 High School Challenge will feature 26 different schools throughout the Region playing 15 games in the month of April. The Media Day Luncheon will include addresses from RailCats Manager Greg Tagert and The RailCats Ambassador Tanner Townsend. A complete schedule of games will be announced Thursday as well as details for the Joe “Moose” Gates Classic. City Athletic Director Earl Smith will be on hand to speak about the Joe “Moose” Gates Classic which will feature Calumet, Roosevelt, West Side and Lew Wallace.

Thursday’s Media Day is open to athletic directors, coaches and select players from participating teams, along with members of the local press. Food, drink and guided tours will be available for all guests. Media requesting credentials for Thursday’s event must contact Ed McCaskey at 219.882.2255 or before noon Thursday.
