The 4th of July is here once again and there are going to be events, parades and festivals all weekend!
The weather is supposed to be beautiful so it will be perfect to get out and have a great time in Northwest Indiana!

Lake County
Cedar Lake IN
Summerfest will kick off Friday, July 2nd for a 4 day run. The fest will have activities, 2 fireworks shows, a parade, food and so much more!

Crown Point IN
Crown Point’s annual Fourth of July parade kicks off at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 4th from the Taft Middle School, 1000 S. Main St., and will travel north on Main Street. There will be a fireworks show hosted by the Crown Point 4th of July Committee at dusk at the Lake County Fairgrounds.

Gary IN
The Gary SouthShore RailCats will be host for fireworks this year at the U’S. Steel Yard. The Best of Motown is on tap for their Saturday celebration! The concert begins at 7:30 on Saturday July 3rd and musical lineup includes The Four Tops, The Reflections, The Temptations, The Connections and more. A Fireworks show will follow after the concert. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under.

Griffith IN
The Griffith Special Events Committee is sponsoring a town parade, which kicks off at 10 a.m. Monday which will start at Pine and Broad streets. The theme this year is a Salute to the American Heroes

Hammond
The city’s annual Independence Day celebration will be held on Sunday, July 4th in the Harrison Park located at Hohman Avenue and Waltham Street. Food, activities and music to begin at 2 p.m along with a patriotic music concert in the band shell at 5:15 with a naturalization ceremony at 6 hosted by the Library.
Highland IN
The 4ht annual 4th of July Festival will be held at the Main Square Park. The celebration is being put on by the Highland Council of Community Events will run through July 4th and is loaded with activities and events. Admission is free.

Hobart IN
Lake Station IN
The annual parade in Lake Station starts off at 5 p.m. Saturday from Columbus Park, on 29th AV. and Clay Street, and runs east on 29th Av.. The parade will turn on DeKalb Street, then turn on to Central Av. and end at Pike Street.
A Fireworks celebration starts at dusk at the Riverview Park.
Merrillville IN
Saturday and Sunday – Ross Township’s annual Independence Day at Hidden Lake.
It includes a beer garden as well other activities. Fireworks will start at 9 p.m both nights at the park, 6355 Broadway. Admission: $3 for cars, $5 for vans, and $10 for buses.
A parade starts at 11 a.m. Sunday starting at the Geisen Funeral Home, 7905 Broadway, and will head north on Broadway to 68th Place.
Munster IN
A Kiddie parade starts the Munster’s 2 day celebration on Saturday, July 3rd at 10:00 am at Oriole and Foliage streets and ending at White Oak and Elliot.
The 4th of July celebration will be loaded with entertainment, and so much more.

A parade starts at 12 noon on Sunday, July 4th which will travel down Indianapolis Blvd from 116th st. and ending at 119th st., to celebrate Whiting’s 91st anniversary. Fireworks at Lakefront park starting at 10:00 PM. More info at:
Porter County
Chesterton IN – Duneland
The Chesterton/Duneland Chamber of Commerce will present the second annual Fireworks on the Lakefront, Friday July 2nd, at the Indiana Dunes State Park.
The fireworks display will start at 9:15 p.m. This event will is being hosted by the town of Porter with support from the towns of Chesterton and Burns Harbor.

The Hebron annual parade starts at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 3rd and runs from the Hebron High School and ends at the Town Square.

The City of Valparaiso will kick off their 4th of July celebration at 7:00 pm on Sunday at the Thomas Jefferson Middle School (South parking lot). Entertainment provided by the Valparaiso High School band with fireworks starting at dusk.
