GARY, IN 1-21-2011 – The Gary SouthShore RailCats are offering fans a second chance to win a luxury suite at a RailCats home game with the 2011 version of the Fan Photo Contest, presented by the Post-Tribune. The RailCats also welcome manager Greg Tagert, hitting coach Mick Curran and former hitting coach Kenny Graham to the celebrity lineup at Fan Fest on February 5.
The RailCats and the Post-Tribune invite RailCats fans to submit their best photographs of summer fun at U. S. Steel Yard or with Rusty and Rascal via email to info@railcatsbaseball.com or by sending a copy to U. S. Steel Yard (One Stadium Plaza, Gary, IN 46402) for a chance to win a luxury suite night complete with tickets for up to 20 people and four VIP parking passes. This prize also includes food for your suite on the night of the game as well as an autographed baseball.
Everyone who enters is already a winner as each entrant will receive a free ticket to the 2011 Fan Fest and all photos will be on display for all to see at the Radisson Hotel in Merrillville at Fan Fest. All submissions must include name, address, phone number and e-mail address (if applicable) and must be received by noon on Tuesday, February 1. Only one entry will be accepted per person, there is no purchase necessary and all photos become the property of the RailCats once submitted. All judges’ decisions are final and the winner is subject to the discretion and opinion of the Gary SouthShore RailCats.
The RailCats have also confirmed the inclusion of members of the RailCats coaching staff, past and present, in Tagert, Curran and Graham. Seventh-year manager Tagert is the winningest skipper in team history and the man who’s guided the ‘Cats to six consecutive playoff appearances including five straight trips to the Northern League Championship Series and two league titles. Curran joined the RailCats in 2009 as the team’s Utility Coach, serving as the team’s First Base Coach until taking over as Hitting Coach in 2010. Graham was the RailCats Hitting Coach from 2008-2009, leading the 2008 squad to a record-setting season offensively before joining the Toronto Blue Jays system as hitting coach for Single-A Auburn (N.Y.) Doubledays in 2010.
Tagert, Curran and Graham join pitchers Tony Cogan and Travis Kerber and infielders Tanner Townsend and Mike Rohde as confirmed guests at the 2011 Fan Fest. All will be available for autographs, answering your questions and helping out at baseball clinics throughout the day.
